with the two of them being in boston, it doesn't need to be said what their fourth of july plans are. they're going to spend the day with his family at his parents' house, eating and watching the fireworks later that night. chris is more than happy to show off his pregnant wife to anyone who will look his way, but after a little while, she begins to feel kind of cranky and tired of people randomly touching her stomach. it's something she has yet to get used to, and doesn't think she ever really will. excusing herself to go get some air, she calms chris down after he fires a round of questions in his usual worried tone. blake moves outside, even if it's fairly warm, but after some walking around, she discovers a hammock set up under two large trees, providing her some privacy and a lot of shade. penny had followed her out, knowing her owner would never turn down the company of her furry baby girl, and, after some struggle and penny almost falling off a couple times, blake hoists herself up into the hammock. she swings back and forth in the breeze, enjoying the quiet and the calm. she doesn't know how much time has passed, but she opens her eyes, slightly startled at a gentle poking on her stomach, and she looks over to find chris' nephew looking intently at her stomach. shifting over, he climbs up onto the hammock with her, curling up against her side, and they both fall asleep there after a little while, lulled by the gentle rocking.
